Happy Thanksgiving Don't Give Up On Me

If you keep coming back, there will eventually be new content, and maybe plenty of it.

I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving. If you didn't get enough to eat, come on by for some dessert.

apple pie, lemon meringue pie, chocolate pie, and double chocolate birthday cake with white chocolate frosting, Snickers, and Milky Way bars

Besides the pie (we had a pumpkin pie for halloween, so figured that these would be enough without pumpkin this time), it was Jonathan's birthday yesterday, so cake was available too. Nobody opted for either chocolate option today. What is wrong with us! Oh well, that apple pie is really good. The crust has cheddar cheese in it. I experimented with pie crust recipes this year, and I like all of these (well, I'm sure I will - haven't tried the chocolate pie yet). The lemon pie has a sourdough crust, and the chocolate pie has an oatmeal crust. I found all of the recipes on SOAR, which is on my links page.

Happy birthday to Jonathan!

Not Getting Much Novel Writing Done

I guess NaNoWriMo just wasn't meant to be for me this year. I have ideas, but just not enough time. The story that I want to tell almost writes itself in my head, but doesn't get typed. I think I may make some outlines and either just do it little by little, or save it for next year. Now I have two jobs! The first one that I wanted when I started applying for jobs became available again, and they gave it to me rather than go through the interview process again. They did say that they were impressed with my qualifications before. So, now I'm working 44 hours a week scheduled. The second job is only 15 hours, and the first is 29. My hours are going to be changing at the first job though, and I'm not sure exactly what will happen. I work 14 1/2 hours on Saturdays and Sundays there, but there ends up being a lot of shifting around.

Knitting

This actually was a while ago, and I have gotten a bit further. I thought I had taken a later picture, but I guess I just thought about it so much that I thought I did. I'll take one in the morning, when the light is better.

I have pictures of my wool room too, but I think I will save those for tomorrow, or the next time I have time to blog, and I'll leave you instead with a picture of the wool producers, who are glad right about now that they have the ability to grow natural wool coats. Yes, they have sheds here, but they are too proud to go in them. Oh, and we got a bit more fence put up, so they are staying in most of the time now.

It snowed. Here are the animals waiting for their afternoon hay.

You represent... anger.
You represent... anger.
Mad at the world, eh? You have a tendency to...
freak out easily. Overly emotional about
everything, you're most prone to bouts of
cruelty and moodiness. Other people may be
afraid of the fact that you explode so easily,
but at least you're honest... even if you're
honest about not liking anything.

Who would have thunk it?

(as if you can't tell, i'm procrastinating my novel writing)

Well, I have gotten some knitting done, and even took a picture, but due to getting called in to work three times this week, I have not gotten the picture uploaded. I have to work tomorrow too, and Sunday swing shift, but I get Sunday morning off as a reward for the extra shifts I worked! Cool!

Sorry about that though. I was going to post my knitting progress and a comment about how having something to procrastinate has the effect of allowing greater productivity in other areas, but I haven't even had much time to procrastinate. Although I did knit!

NaNoWriMo

Official NaNoWriMo 2004 Participant

Why did I do this? I signed up to write a novel. The deadline is midnight, Nov. 30th. I haven't started yet. I don't even know what it is going to be about. And I will only have five writing days per week, and I waffled all day and blew the first one. But I'll deal with it. Hopefully. I wanted to participate last year, but it was impossible with classes and everything, so I said I would try this year if not in school. I'm not in school, so here I am. Click on the picture if you are lost and don't know what the heck I'm talking about.

Sheep

There is a simple rule for determining whether or not your fence is goat-proof (or apparently, sheep-proof). Take a bucket of water, and throw it at the fence. If any water gets through, so will the goats (or sheep). Our sheep are simply not interested in staying put. They have a larger area here than they did in Vernal, and I suppose that means more fence, and more potential for fence weaknesses. They have found a few. I hope the neighbors don't hate me.
